AGARTALA: Jharkhand defeated Orissa by seven wickets to top the East Zone Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament here today. Opting to field first, Jharkhand bowled out Orissa for 176 and then reached the target with plenty wickets and overs to spare. Opener Akash Verman top scored for the winners with 49 while Saurabh Tiwari and Ishank Jaggi remained unbeaten on 48.
Varun Aron was the pick of the Jharkhand bowlers picking up three wickets for 32 runs while Kuldeep Sharma took two for 22. Paresh Patel was the top scorer for Orissa with a superb 79.
