Ranji: Maharashtra 150/3 on the opening day

Kochi: (PTI) Maharashtra openers Harshad Kadiwala (24) and Nikhil Paradar(45) put on 64 runs for the opening wicket to help their side to score 150 for 3, in their first innings, before rain interrupted, in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group B match against Kerala, at the Jawaharlal Nehru International stadium, on the opening day here today. Kerala, won the toss and put Maharashtra into bat. Both Kadiwala and Paradar, did not show any urgency and batted with patience, hitting only loose balls into the fence.

The duo took the score to 64, when Kerala's medium pacer Prashant, drew the first blood by having Kadiwala caught by Rakesh for 24, which contained 2 boundaries. Sangram Ajit Adhitkor joined Paradkar and the duo took the score to 101 when Paradkar, who was batting with confidence, departed after scoring 45 which included three hits to the ropes. Medium pacer sony Cheruvathur soon struck by removing Kedar Jadav caught by hegde for 5. When stumps were drawn for the day at tea, with rain playing spoisport, Maharashtra were on 150/3 with Sangram Ajit Adhitkor batting 38 and Ankit Bavane batting 26.
