Indian eves managed to retain their numero uno status in the International Cricket Council's ODI Women's Rankings with Mithali Raj leading the batting chart and Jhulan Goswami topping the bowling list issued today. Mithali has 823 ranking points at an average of 49.83 while Jhulan has 777 points averaging 21.66.

Other Indian players in the list will also be hoping to improve their ranking with some good performances in the five-match ODI series against West Indies, which began in Mumbai today. Goswami would be looking to consolidate her position further with a strong show with the ball, while Rumeli Dhar, at fifth spot, would try to put pressure on those above her. England's Charlotte Edwards has also climbed up in the batting chart to third position despite her side losing the recently-concluded three-match ODI series in Australia. Edwards scored a total of 188 runs in the series, but her efforts with the bat went in vain as England lost the series 1-2.
Australia's all-rounder Lisa Sthalekar has climbed two places to occupy sixth place after a positive performance. The 31-year-old has also risen to third in the ICC ODI Women's Player Rankings for bowlers while maintaining her second spot in the all-rounder rankings. Australia's Shelley Nitschke, the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year 2010, has maintained her second position in the batting list. In the bowling table, Sthalekar clinched the third place after the off-spinner claimed five wickets during her side's victorious series over England in Perth.
